Underwater image enhancement method with non-uniform illumination based on Retinex and ADMM

In order to solve the image blurring and distortion problem caused by underwater non-uniform low illumination, this paper proposes an enhancement algorithm based on Retinex theory Alternating Direction Method of Multipliers (ADMM). Firstly, L component original in Lab space is extracted as initial illumination map, Augmented Lagrange Multiplier (ALM) framework constructed ADMM optimize map obtain accurate image. addition, further corrected luminance region with Gamma Correction. Secondly, combined color constancy characteristics theory, reflected object obtained. Finally, bilateral filter picked suppress noise a more detailed enhanced The experimental results show that can effectively natural light or artificial source improve quality, thus having better performance than other algorithms.
